Reiss Process Machinery Ltd Article for BPMN

Reiss Process Machinery Ltd have recently received another order for one of their Rotabelt dewatering units. This will be the 7th unit manufactured by RPM with units already operating in the UK, Mexico and the Czech Republic. The units are used mainly for heavyweight board applications and use of the units can give many advantages including:-

An increase in Wire life due to elimination of friction between the wire and the vacuum dewatering unit.

Reduction in Couch power of up to 30%

The ability to apply higher vacuums than on a standard Flat Suction Box due to the much reduced drag on the wire.

An increase in machine production due to a dryer sheet into the Presses / Dryer Section.

Higher machine efficiency with reduced energy costs if production remains the same.

RPM have just delivered a Rotabelt unit as part of a new Forming Section for a speciality UK mill, whilst the new Rotabelt order is from an overseas customer.

Other projects, either currently in the RPM workshops or recently delivered, include a Reiss  vacuum system featuring “Governor Boxes”. This device can be used where there is insufficient height for the dewatering elements to use conventional “barometric legs” – such as a machine house with no basement.

RPM have also provided their SVC Vacuum Control Valves to a UK customer. These valves provide accurate control of the vacuum gradient along the machine which gives benefits for production volumes, sheet quality and reduced drive loads. The units are of all Stainless Steel construction and provide a fast response with a control accuracy of up to +/- 12mm water gauge. The Vacuum Control Valves can be controlled either manually or via an I/P transducer control system. High and Low vacuum ranges can be catered for by changing just one internal part, this means that new Vacuum Control Valves are not required should the machine parameters change in the future.
